Would you change any of your status updates if you knew people could see exactly how many times they were seen?
You might want to delete some posts if your answer was yes. A Facebook glitch is showing everyone exactly how popular your posts are. People are able to see the number of views next to the “Like” button underneath their posts.
According to The Verge, Facebook said they’re aware of the problem and they’re working on fixing it. This glitch is only affecting the mobile version of Facebook.
This is an important reminder to not post anything on Facebook you wouldn’t mind everyone seeing. Even though this bug doesn’t relate directly to privacy, you need to be aware that you don’t control what is seen and not seen. Do you want people to see how many times your blog post was viewed?
All in all, this is an important reminder that Facebook’s glitches may affect our privacy. Imagine if “by mistake” all of our limited posts (posts that only some of our connections can see) became public? Don’t ever post anything you don’t want the whole world to see – this goes for all of your social networks.
Do you care if people can see how many times your Facebook status updates were seen?
