Course Information
Course 1: French Legalese for Lawyers I
Presenter: Suzanne E. Deliscar, Lawyer-Linguist
Date: November 5, 12, and 19, 2013 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM ET (3 hours)
Format: Online workshop
Language of Instruction: English
Languages Covered in this Course: French and English
Target Audience: This course is intended for lawyers who want to learn or refresh their French-English legal terminology skill sets. This is a beginner’s level course.
Cost: $300 USD
During this 3 part online workshop, participants will learn both the French and English terms for a variety of legal terms, enabling them to complete a comprehensive glossary. The workshop will be interactive, including tests and polls throughout to encourage participant engagement. Please note that the terminology discussed in this course would be terms used in the North American context.
Course 2: Spanish Legalese for Lawyers I
Presenter: Suzanne E. Deliscar, Lawyer-Linguist
Date: November 8, 15, and 22, 2013 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM ET (3 hours)
Format: Online workshop
Language of Instruction: English
Languages Covered in this Course: Spanish and English
Target Audience: This course is intended for lawyers who want to learn or refresh their Spanish-English legal terminology skill sets. This is a beginner’s level course.
Cost: $300 USD
During this 3 part online workshop, participants will learn both the Spanish and English terms for a variety of legal terms, enabling them to complete a comprehensive glossary. The workshop will be interactive, including tests and polls throughout to encourage participant engagement. Please note that the terminology discussed in this course would be terms used in the North American context.
Please note that both of these programs may be eligible towards the Law Society of Upper Canada’s CPD Requirement as Substantive Hours. Please note that this program is not accredited for Professionalism Hours or the New Member requirement.
About Suzanne
Suzanne Deliscar is a Canadian lawyer-linguist who translates in the French-English and Spanish-English language pairs. She focuses on legal and official document translation, as well as contract abstraction and e-discovery in Spanish and French. She is also the developer and presenter of over 20 webinar programs for translators and interpreters, focusing on legal translation, official document translation, and marketing. Ms. Deliscar specializes in providing legal and language services in English, Spanish and French.
